Cheer Crazy

"It's not the sparkle of the poms, It's the shine from within."

Hello Cheerleaders and Coaches!

Our Charitable Picks in 2008

We can't wait to help out our charitable picks for 2008.  At the competition,  a percentage of your admission and concession will go to the charities we've chosen for 2008.   Remember that by participating in Cheer Crazy- you are helping many people around Cincinnati including your own Cheerleaders by showing them what Charity is all about.  Thank you so much for being a part of this special project and check back after the competition to find out how much we raised for each Charity!

Angela's Pick:
Angela will be donating to the Kelly-Carol Foundation for Children with Cancer.   It is a local charity that does wonderful things for children who are diagnosed with Cancer and their families in Cincinnati!  "They work directly with local hospitals, to determine a family's needs, and act quickly to offer solutions."  The foundation is named after Kelly Leigh Gabelman who spent her highschool years struggling with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and died while attending her freshman year at Ohio State.   It was rededicated in 2008 to Carol Ann Gabelman who was a founding member and passed away in 2002.  This charity is dear to her heart because her son, Ethan,  was diagnosed with Cancer in 2006 and they had so much support and now is time to give back to wonderful organizations like the Kelly-Carol Foundation for Children with Cancer.  Please visit their website for more information: http://www.kellysfoundation.org/

Lauren's Pick:
Lauren choose the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in honor of Alissa M. Coorey, a dear friend, who lost her battle with CF in April of 2005.  The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation does a sponsor walk in Cincinnati every May and Lauren has been 'walking for a cure' since May of 2005. "The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease." Alissa touched so many lives and we feel it's important to keep giving in hopes to find a cure to save others like her.  For more information, please visit http://www.cff.org/.

Charms Pick:
This year, the squad will be donating to the Child Life Center at Childrens Hospital.  "Children admitted into Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center receive the finest medical treatment, emotional support and loving care available anywhere. However, children and families in the hospital have other special needs that are met through the generosity of individuals and organizations throughout Greater Cincinnati."  Childlife at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati plays a very important role to the wonderful little patient's a Children's Hospital.  They provide books, entertainment, toys, and so much else to children who are struggling with Illness while being admitted to Children's Hospital.  Our Charm's squad realizes that ChildLife is so important to make sure that kid's can find little joys in their hospital stay.
